Most newer computers have no COM ports (i.e. All 3 ToughBooks have a real hardware COM1 port on the back. Personally, I use Panasonic CF-series Toughbooks as my radio programming computers, a CF-27 for my older radios that use MS-DOS/Win98SE, a CF-29 for the newer radios that can use Win XP, and a CF-30 for Win10 (32 bit).
